HP DVD 1040i Burner Can't be recognized?
I just bought and installed my HP DVD burner and it will not respond. It can't even read the installation CD, I had to use another drive to install the software. It shows up in hardware manager but has a yellow exclamation mark. I cannot find any drivers on HP website to install. So it can't read CD's or DVD's and when I try to burn it can't find the drive at all. Any ideas where I can get some kind of drivers, firmwares, etc for this thing?
mmmm ... it shouldnt need any drivers installed .. if windows didnt detect it make sure everything is plugged in correctly and jumpered correctly ... u may need to uninstall the ide and the drive and reboot .. the cd is probably just some sort of software ...
