If you are in the USA it is hard to beat the stores prices, such as Best Buy and Fry's. Circuit City also has great prices, just slightly higher than Best Buy, usually no more than $10...
You have to watch out for shipping laptops via mail. Many places such as newegg.com try to ship the laptop in the origional box they come in. The origional box is great when they are on a pallet with 100 other laptops stacked together and shipped from one place to the other together. But when shipped individually not so well, especially when tehy are going to be thrown about from mail room to truck back to mail room to truck...
