how is the HP - Pavilion Special Edition Laptop with AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-62?
ello potential answerers, i will be purchasing a laptop in the next few days from best buy with my graduation money [woo class of 08]. i was very interested in the HP - Pavilion Special Edition one. i will be file sharing, typing papers, messaging, browsing the internet, and seriously listening/mixing some music. is this laptop good for me?
any pros and cons?
Just bought this laptop (dv2940se) a couple of days ago and I love it. It has a 350 Gb hard drive which I'll never come close to using up, 2.1 Ghz AMD processor, and 4 Gigs of RAM. From what I've seen, no other laptop with comparable specs are in the same price range. I found a great deal on mine ($800 on sale), so I couldn't pass it up.
Pros: Huge hard drive, fast processor, video card seems decent so far, even though I haven't put any heavy duty games on yet, maximum RAM comes stock. Built in webcam, vista is a huge upgrade from XP. Has a built in microphone and sound recorder which can be invaluable for recording lectures. Ultra mobile laptop.
Con: The only thing negative I've noticed so far about this PC is that the 14.1" screen can be a little hard to read sometimes (although you can change the font size).
Overall, this laptop is a great deal and HP is an affordable yet good brand. I upgraded from another HP laptop which lasted a whole six years (and is still functional enough to use for basic tasks and internet) so I'm sure this laptop will see that much life and maybe more.
