Hi I cant seem to choose between these two computers.
I am a college student and want to replace my HP desktop which I've had for 5yrs. I like editing photos with PaintShop Pro and sometimes run Adobe CS4. I surf the internet a lot and write many papers. I NEED A FAST COMPUTER that can run many prgms at once! such as:Webcam,Editing photos,Writing a paper all at once. I'm not a gamer.

It depends if you going to eat and drink in front of you laptop, Its a bad habit. Be honest with yourself. Are you doing it in front of your desktop? if you are doing now eating while you type than it mean you will be doing it with your new laptop. Dell is the choice because of the accidental damage in spillage warranty, which allow you to damage you laptop with drinks and food. no other brands will warranty do that. Its call complete care. You will have to pay extra for that.
HP compaq is excellent choice if you don't eat and drink during use.
Be honest with yourself this will save you money and grief later.
