Computer game won't install ?
I had an old computer given to me. It is running with Windows XP Professional. I want to install games on a CD-ROM, but it will not install. I get an error message. The CD is " Hoyle Board Games 2005 ". Here is the error message that I keep getting : " Component transfer error. component : executable, File Group : Board_App, File : D:data 2.cab, Error : Data error ( cyclic redundancy check ) ". Can anyone help me and tell me what this error message means ?. NOTE : The Hoyle puzzle games DID install and the computer was purchased in 1998 and then upgraded to the windows xp professional. I just want to get the board games CD to install, like the puzzles one did.
A CRC error means the file is corrupt is not being read correctly...maybe because the CD is scratched or dirty try cleaning it.
