Windows xp pro is on my computer. It is not running well. I want to reinstall Windows xp home edition instead?
I have the original Windows xp home edition cd. Will the data on my harddrive be deleted if reinstall the home edition?

Yes, you do have to back up all your personal data, first. Then, you must do an XP Home "Clean Install", which formats your hard drive and removes XP Pro:
BUT, the REAL reason XP Pro isn't running well, assuming it's a legal copy, is you have to install all the Motherboard Device Drivers, first. Open the case, and the Make and Model Number is printed right on the MoBo. Get the drivers from the Manufacturer's website, by model Number and maybe Windows version.
TIP: Without all the Motherboard Device Drivers, XP Home won't run any better than XP Pro does.
