Can I take the license key from computer with Windows XP Home SP2 and reuse it in Windows XP Home SP3 new CD?
Or do I have to get a new license key?
Forgot to mention I want to wipe the HD clean and install a fresh Windows XP Home SP3 in my computer, but I want to reuse the old license from SP2.
If it's retail or unbranded OEM, then you can re-install direct to SP3 if you need to.
If it's SLP / "royalty OEM", then the COA sticker key will not activate automatically - ideally you would slipstream your OEM CD to SP3 to be able to make a quicker re-install if it is required.
If the key is still in use, then it will be discovered when you attempt to activate.
