Hw t2 put my home PC and my laptop on a network so dat we can use the same broadband connection?
Hi I want to create a local/ home networking with spending lill money, my pc has a LAN card and my lappy too...Kindly suggest, my PC is P3, 800 Mhz.
Well I dont think you really need to buy anything, just check out that the modem that u are using for your Broadband connection, is that with a built in Router???
If it is so, then your work is done,.. Just connect your laptop and your pc through LAN to that router, and the small half a meter LAN cables are available even for free.
Well if you have a Wireless in your LAPTOP, it would be far more better for you, but while using the Wireless, you have to take care that you should have Wireless enabled router cum modem, and if you dont have that please forget the Wireless, go ahead and use the normal LANs also take care about the IP configuration and the Broadband sharing setttings when u configure the network....

Also, if you are new to LAN Configuration and all, before starting any configuration on either of your laptop or PC, do take care of making a Restore point on your PC as well as LAPTOP, you can do so by clicking, Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore, over there just go and click on Create a Restore Point and just name it to any thing you want and create a Restore Point so that even if at all you have anything mistaken or any wrong configurations done, you can simply go to System Restore and Restore your System to a Earlier Time and get your system stable and back again..
