Would my computer be able to handle a Blu-Ray drive/recorder pretty well?

Dell Optiplex GX620
>Intel P4 3.8 Ghz HT
>4 GB Ram PC2-4200
>512 MB Nvidia Graphics Card
>Hitachi Sata 3.0 gb/s 1 TB HD
HDD is fine, RAM is fine.
your CPU is barley fast enough but it will do.
512mb nvidia graphics card is vague. you need an HDCP graphics card AND an HDCP monitor. if you have a powerful graphics card with HDCP then i say go for it as it will take some load of the CPU.
if your graphics card is just so-so (but still has HDCP) i would say hold off because combined with the CPU you probably would get choppy playback.
if you do not have HDCP graphics card or monitor it is still possible to watch blue ray over a VGA connection, but this is not reccomended. to see if your graphics card and your monitor have an HDCP link between them, use the Blu Ray advisor tool from either cyberlink OR Corel. (use gogole search)
it will only tell you if there is an HDCP link between your graphics card and you monitor. if it says no HDCP one of the two could still have it. also use DVI cable or HDCP does not work.
