Dell Optiplex GX620 RAM confusion!?
Hello, i have just recived 2 sticks of 1GB RAM for my Dell optiplex GX620, I tryed installing them but my desktop was making a beeping sound, I know from experience that it was because the RAM is not compatible. So i went onto crucial.com and scanned my computer it showed that my computer supports DDR2 PC2-5300 & DDR2 PC2-6400. & That installed memory must be matching?
Now this is where im confused, My computer came with 1GB of RAM installed when i bought it brand new The original RAM is DDR2 PC2-4200... So, how is this working if crucial says my computer only supports PC2-5300 & PC2-6400?
Also if i bought a DDR2 PC2-5300 or PC2-6400 will they work together with the 1GB DDR2 PC2-4200 already originally installed in my computer?

I have never bought RAM from crucial.com They claim to guarentee compatibility.
Anyone used crucial.com & is this true?
Dell is notorious for using proprietary hardware and been picky with memory brands.Good luck
