technical difficulties, i need help plz?
I need a real computer wiz , i have a linksys wifi router model. wrt54gs2- v1(google it) and i have a dell computer-Optiplex GX280 DHP P4,(google it also) I need to know if theres anyway to hook the router up to the computer and i need you to be very very specific on what to do-i.e- step by step.
Yes there is. Take an Ethernet cable (google it) and connect one end of it to the Ethernet port on the computer. Take the other end and connect it to one of the 4 LAN ports on the router. If you have never changed any network settings on the computer then it should receive an IP address from the router and the 2 are now "connected".
Open your web browser and put 192.168.1.1 into the address bar and press the enter key. The username should be left blank and the password should be "admin".
