Upgrading DVD-rom. So i here is the problem....?
I bought a new internal DVD-RW to upgrade my PC. It is an LG Super Multi DVD ReWriter. 8.5 GB DVD+R double layer 16x / 8.5 GB DVD-R Dual Layer 12x
Now here is my question...
The side of the box states it requires Pentium IV 2.4 Ghz or higher / Compatible. My PC has an AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 4450e 2.30 Ghz
Will my computer accept this new piece of hardware despite the minor deviation (is it compatible) or will i need an upgrade for the processor too?
You're fine. DVD Burners don't really care much about the CPU.... the requirement on the box is just to prevent someone from installing it to a REALLY old computer that couldn't keep up with the drive. Your 2.3Ghz dual-core Athlon is much faster than a 2.4Ghz Pentium 4 (which is a processor from about 8 years ago)
