What is the next evolution of the computer? In other words, what will be the standard (in the near future) for
desktops? This last generation of computers featured a Pentium 4 processor, 3.6 Ghz., 512mb RAM, 160 gig hard drive, DVD+- R drive, LCD 4:3 screen (17"), cable broadband w/ 700+ mps. Will the next generation (less than 5 yrs.) see widescreen monitors standard on all desktops? Will we see 1 terabyte hard drives? Will broadband speed increase dramatically?
joe, we are witnessing an evolution of sorts presently & u seem to be stuck to the pentium 4
the pentium label has been retired by intel quite sometime now
dual cores & now quad cores, with a massive 8 mb l2 cache
1 gb ddr2 ram in single slot, also 2 gb
1 gb dual channel graphics
750 gb sata hard drive ... few weeks should see 1 tb in single drive
hdtv
broadband speeds going up, bandwidth increasing
wi-fi, now wi-max
> with vista round the corner, 32 bit computing to 64 bit computing
