will older PC games intended for windows 2000 or XP work on vista?
It may depend upon the game. Some will work and some won't. For the games that are having trouble working on Vista, you can turn on the compatibility mode for the program.
To do this, you right-click on the executable file of the game and open the properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and click "Run this program in compatibility mode" and select Windows XP or 2000 depending upon the game.
