Can I use Windows 98 setup CDs to fix Blue Screen of Death on XP Professional laptop?
I got the blue screen of death on my IBM Thinkpad with Windows XP Professional. It said unmountable boot volume. It is my understanding that I can put a Windows XP setup CD and boot from that to fix the problem...but I don't have the CDs for XP. Can I use Windows 98 CDs? I have no idea what I'm doing!
no, they are different operating systems and different file structures. XP uses NTSF file system which Win 98 will not be able to access.
