Can I run Vista Premium on my computer?
I have a Dell Optiplex 210l 3gb cpu and 2gb RAM. I am currently running Vista Basic. My memory is at max. When I upgraded to Vista basic I could not upgrade to premium because of the graphics card on my computer at the time. I recenly upgraded to a LCD monitor and have ordered a graphics card upgrade with 512 mb memory as well. Will 2gb memory be enough to run premium or should I stay with basic? My memory is max at 2 gb so upgrading memory is not an option. I am thinking about Windows 7 which apparently will not have a basic edition. It seems you have to either do a clean install or upgrade to Vista Premim first. Not sure if I will upgrade to 7 yet, but, Micorsoft claims it is faster than Vista.
I'd just wait the 2 months til Win 7 comes out. It's better than Vista, and it isnt such a resource hog. Running Vista premium with 2 gigs may slow you down a bit
