Yeah that will be fast but if you do choose windows vista make sure that you use the 64-bit version... The 32-bit version of vista can only utilise 3gb of ram whilst i can find 4gb so choosing the 32-bit version and 4gb ram would be a waste of cash.
I would reccomend windows xp but update are stopping for that soon, i would personally build the computer and wait untill windows 7 is released as having tried windows 7 i must say its faster and easier to use than windows xp and vista.
