How fast windows 2k run with a dual core procesor, or intel core two duo machine?
I would like to install windows 2000 pro, in my new machine, getting rid off the boring and very slow W vista home premium, are there any known issues, or problems with it? because I would like to take advantage of my old software that ran for years with out too much problems, like lazy vista, taking advantage too of the plenty ram memory that my new machine has ..4g, any comments, issues, or problems with it?? sharing your experiences will be usefull.
Why 2000 ? Why not XP? OK, the OS will not take advantage of the multiple core architecture because it is not coded to do so. As a matter of fact, the processing power of a multiple core CPU is harnessed only if the program is coded to use multiple cores. It would be no different to use a Core2duo and a pentium 4 (supposing they are of same clock speed) for windows 2000 (even for XP, it is the applications like 3D games, video editing etc that take advantage of multiple cores).
