What should I get, a dual core or Quad core cpu?
I like the idea of getting a fast dual core (like the Intel E8400 for mainly playing games), but I also worry that the future could shift to Quad cores without warning, even the games. B/c if new games start optimizing towards quads, then dual cores will run new games very poorly. I'm starting to think quad....but not sure??
Also is there something out there that optimizes a dual/quad core cpu to older games and applications?
a mid-range Quad Core works at about the same speed as a high-end Dual Core.... so. I think the answer is obvious.
BTW, not all games work on Dual Core, thus your speed may not be optimized at all. Try getting a good Graphic Card as well.
