Monitor won't come on even though i hear the noises it usually makes when on?
OK so my parents got my little brother a desktop for christmas. It has a brand new tower or pc whatever but a refurbished monitor. We started using it for about a month now and worked awesome it was fast and very good graphics but last night he was messing with the keyboard or something and he tried turning the monitor off for some reason and now it wont turn back on. So we tried turning it back on the PC or tower thingy lighted up as usual and the monitor didn't turn on at all even after hearing the usual welcome bing noise or welcome music. We messed with it and it makes the noises and everything works fine its just the monitor is still not on an no display. I love my little brother and he loves the computer and i want to know how to fix it. What my dad thinks is that he most of pressed like ALT SHIFT or something but we really honestly don't know so please help^^
If the monitor never displays anything at all then your brother didn't press anything on the keyboard that disabled it or turned it off. If he did, it would only not display windows and it would still show the first logo and what have you before it started loading windows.
The fact that it doesn't show anything at all anymore leads me to believe that the connections either need to be checked again. Or the monitor has flat out died. If messing with the cables doesn't change anything then, I'm sorry to say, your monitor is dead.
