How to run Core 2 Duo porcessor fast and use both core at once?
Hi, I have a laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 2.0Ghz processor. When I write a data disc on my laptop using nero it takes around 30 minutes for 8 gb of data to write on dual layer dvd. While my PC is only using 18-25% of its processor power. How can I make it to use about 80-90%?
Different application uses different parts of your CPU/GPU/RAM. CPU intensive programs such as CAD programs and most muti-engine anti-virus programs utilizes the CPU more. Running more than 2 or 3 programs in the background also uses more CPU power. Also, 64-bit operating systems efficiently utilizes the CPU more than 32-bit OSes.
Unfortunately, CD/DVD writing softwares are at the mercy of the actual hardware instead of CPU utilization. Since the media writer can only go a certain speed, the bottle neck is when it is writing the data to the media. Unless there is a faster media reader/writer out there, it will only use as much CPU as it needs.
You can always try a 64-bit version OS and software titles to use more of your CPU for other computing purposes. Do remember that the closer you get to topping your CPU utilization, the slower your system gets.
