Will using a registry cleaner make my XP computer faster?
So Ive been updating/fixing my computer and the last thing I found is something called a registry cleaner, which I have no clue at all what it is.
So id love to ask you whether
-IF it will make my computer slower/faster (Its already fast but I just hate that it occasionally lags)
-A good place to download one
-Once thats done, whether I could just delete it right after
Thats all and If we could could stay on the topics of The Registry cleaner that would be awesome (Last time I asked something I got an answer for something else <_<)
Oh yeah and whether it will damage my computer
What is a registry cleaner that Will not delete anything needed by windows to work, I am kinda noobish and I dont want to make a mistake.
In comodo, If it deletes something important, and my computer doent work, how can I get the stuff back?

If your computer is running good now then a registry cleaner will not help at all.
In fact using a registry cleaner can be very risky. Some of them do harm by removing important system files so your computer will not even boot up at all. In that case you usually end up reinstalling the entire operating system and losing your data files, music, videos and photos.
I have tried a few registry cleaners and that's what happened to me.
There are only two apps that I use to keep my computer cleaned out and running fast.
CCleaner and Glary Utilities. Both are free downloads and have done no harm to my systems in over three years.
For a firewall I use the standard Windows firewall. I know there are others but the windows firewall works for me.
To protect against addware and spyware I use Spybot S&D. It is free and has real time protection (called Teatimer by Spybot).
To protect against malware I use Malwarebytes. Do an update and manual scan weekly.
Malwarebytes is very good at finding and removing trojans and some viruses. It also is a free download.
For an antivirus application I use Microsoft Security Essentials on one computer and Avast on another computer. MSE is a free download, updates often (automatically in the background) and has good reviews in computer magazines. MSE has done a good job for me for eleven months,
Avast also is free, updates daily and has done a good job for me for about three years.
My advice; forget about the registry cleaner just keep the junk files cleaned out.
