Is it worth setting up a pc repair business?
a couple of people I talked to said there isnt any money to be made in it,that most people will replace a pc before getting repaired. This is beacuse a repair may cost £100+ and as you can pick up a pc or laptop brand new for £300 then whats the point in repairing an old one. I am studying for the Comptia A+ exam but also been told thats not important as its just a certificate! I live in UK so answers about US market may not be useful to me
If you are good at what you do plunge in. I started being successful the day after deciding never to listen to other people's advice. There are experts round every corner in the UK. Most of them not in business. Listen to yourself. If you were in my area and could give me today or next day service I would use you like a shot. So will others especially if you do the running. Be honest, look respectable and be respectful even to clients who are a pain in the ****. Knowledge of your sector and perseverance are the best assets you will ever have. Start small and grow slowly. Keep on the right side of the Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise and they will bend over backwards for you. Get registered with business link and take in everything they tell you. Don't pay for any information unless it's in a specialised legal area. The government publish info on every aspect of running a business.
