The Koreans are one of the five new civilizations in Age of Empires II: The Conquerors, the sequel of the popular Age of Empires II: Age of Kings. They are a powerful military civilization and have powerful siege units and towers. However, they are slow at advancing through the ages. The Koreans are suited for players who like long games and enjoy using siege units with tower support.
Civilization Bonuses
The bonuses that the Koreans receive are as follows:
• Villagers line of sight +2
Arguably, the most important Korean bonus, as it makes the villager a great scout unit and decreases the chances of the enemy player to build hidden towers and barracks near our base. It also really helps the new players to have a easier time to find resources.
• Stone miners work 20% faster
The Koreans can fend off early rushes easily thanks to their villagers +2 line of sight bonus and with the ability to gather stone faster than the other civilizations, it allows them to build castles and towers sooner which will be needed to fend off the more aggressive players.
• Tower upgrades free (Bombard Tower requires Chemistry)
There's not much difference between a Watch tower and a Keep but once a Korean player hits Imperial age and researches Chemistry, the only way for the other players to deal with Bombard towers is to use siege units.
• Towers range +1 in Castle Age, and+1 in Imperial Age (+2 total)
As if your towers weren't terrifying enough, the added range will kill many enemy units before they can harm your Bombard towers.
• Team bonus: Mangonels and Onagers have +1 range
Another good bonus, especially if you team up with civilizations that have good siege lines (like the Celts or the Mongols). The extra range will allow Onagers to lay waste on Town Centers with impunity.
