Desktop boot camp to use Windows on a MacBook Pro...advice?
I'm buying a MacBook because I want to be a graphic designer and my University requires it...I know that's so stupid. THe down side of that...I'm also a moderately dedicated gamer. I play Dragon Age: Origins on my old pc but it keeps crashing.Here are the stats on the MacBook Im getting:
13-inch: 2.26GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB Memory
160GB Hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
I plan to use Boot Camp so I can play all of my PC games. How much of my hard drive should I dedicate to Windows? I plan to play at normal quality, and no more than two games at once. Im good with the games but bad with the tec. Any help would be nice.
I already plan to keep all the little extras on an external hard drive. The only thing on the laptop will be photoshop and whatever else I have to install for school.
40 to 70gb would be good, but it really depends on how much you are going to install on the Mac partition. You can easily divide the drive in half, and it would do just fine as well. However, Windows will take up less than 5gb, and each game says in the system requirements how much space you will need. Add 8gb for swap space (twice your Ram) if you want an exact number.
I'd recommend getting an external hard drive for keeping media of any sort on.
