Why is my new computer with Core 2 Duo processor and good memory slow compared to my previous old P4 computer?
I recently assembled my new computer with Intel Core 2 Duo processor-E7200 2.53 Ghz, 1066 Mhz-FSB, L2- 3MB cache, 2GB DDR2 , 160GB HDD running XP professional sp2.
But it takes long times to boot. I feel its slower than my earlier P4(400Mhz-FSB) computer.
Why is it so? please help me.
Update all your driver's and direct x/windows, in particular your video card as I suspect that is what is slowing you down. After you do this restart your computer.
Next click Start -- Run -- Type Msconfig then press enter
Now go to the startup tab and uncheck everything except your firewall and your antivirus. Including windows defender, its crap and just slows your computer down.
Restart computer again after this and you should be set.
