making windows xp recognize more ram?
1st off i know you guys will tell me to get the 64-bit version of vista. second off your gonna tell me that 4gb of ram is overkill. plz dont tell me that(i know some of you will)
i have the 32-bit version of windows xp home edition.i currently have 2gb of ram but sometimes i take the ram from my other pc and use 4gb(dual channel) i only get 2.8gb and is there any way to get more usable ram? i play games like crysis warhead.

actually i only have a 8600gts with 256mb. i might add a second 1.
Windows Xp 32 bit can use 4GB of total ram. Although some of it is taken away from your graphics card and even from an external sound card. So if you have a graphics card with 512mb of ram, windows xp 32 bit can only use 3.50Gb of ram. I am guessing you have SLI graphics card with 640mb each?
