Downgrading Vista to XP, What drivers do i need and how to do it?
I have a HP pavilion DV6700 notebook running on windows vista. I would like to downgrade it to windows xp. What device drivers do i need and where can i find them? Also how would i go about installing the XP system?
The problem with my laptop right now is that it is always lagging and i cannot do anything that requires the owners' approval (I am the administrator/owner) without it completely freezing up. Before, i have tried to install an antivirus and the next day, i got a blue screen (2 times in a row). After that, it recovered using self-recovery and the antivirus was no more.
Also, when I try to play my pc game, the graphic card did not respond and required updating. So, when I try to update using windows update, it freezes up again. The blue screens are fairly regular (at least one a week). I'm out of ideas and i'm leaning towards the XP downgrade. Any ideas will be much appreciated.

Do a thorough websearch on how-to. There's plenty of material available.
First of all, you need to find SATA drivers for your notebook
Graphics, sound, chipset, usb, wireless, network, bluetooth etc will be needed.
You need to disable SATA support in the bios settings of your notebook.
Then (after having all drivers!) install XP (maybe on a second HDD?).
Install all drivers, install the SATA driver and reboot.
Enable SATA in the Bios setup, and you should be fine.
