Problems Installing Windows 7 (64 bit) "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. If you have a driver.."?
Ok so I recently bought the following hardware and put it all together last night:
Intel Core i7 950
6GB DDR3 1333Mhz
1TB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive
Antec 300 Case
Blu-Ray Rom / DVD Rw
GeForce GTX 470 DDR5 1280MB
Intel X58 USB3 Motherboard
I put my windows 7 (64 bit) disc into the drive as it currently has no OS installed, it booted off the disc and went into the windows setup, asked for my language and country. Then loads for abit and on the next screen displays the following error:
"A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVDm or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note. If the windows installation media is in the drive, you can safely remove it for this step."
Any suggestions are much appreciated.
All the hardware is legit and set me back around £1000, I've tried inserting all of the hardware discs and browsing through the folders but same issue.
Your best bet would be to make Bootable USB Flash Drive from Windows 7 ISO Image, and install from there. You could use this tool http://store.microsoft.com/help/iso-tool to make bootable Flash Drive. If you still get this error while trying to install from Flash Drive, your ISO image is most likely corrupted, try redownloading it (from another source if possible).
There are many things what might give you this error. Most common is damaged ISO image or Media.
Also might be motherboard issues, you could try plugging DVD drive into different SATA slot on motherboard, enabling AHCI mode in BIOS, flashing bios to newest version available from motherboard manufacturer.
