ATI HD4670 display card performance?
Hi, I current have a dell desktop with built in x600 ATI..but now none of the game i can support so i thinking of change 2 ATI HD4670..but my processor is P4 3.2 Hyper Trading Tech. with 2GB win xp. is it work for my desktop?
It will work as long as your motherboard has a PCIe X16 expansion slot. That looks like the longest one on the bottom in the picture here http://www.viperlair.com/articles/editorials/pcie/images/pci_express_001.JPG Make sure it's PCIeX16 and not an AGP slot.
The HD4670 is a good choice for your system, as you should see a very good performance boost in games (the 4670 is probably 4-5 times as powerful, or more, as your old x600) and won't have to worry about power supply issues, as the 4670 does not require additional power plugs as other graphics cards do, and generally sips power. It shouldn't have any issues playing any games out there today.
It's pretty cheap as well, and I generally wouldn't spend any more on a graphics card for your system as it's getting a bit getting old in the tooth. The 4670 is an overall good choice. Good luck.
