Of late characters on my desktop appear on the monitor after a 2-3 seconds delay after typing. Why?
I have emptied caches, done a virus scan, disabled un necessary startup items from the 'msconfig' file. My comp has an XP - SP2 operating system. It is a P4 with 160 GB HDD partitioned into 3. It has a RAM of 1 GB. The problem seems to have begun since the last few days.
I have never found one answer to that. I have worked on several systems that had that problem and each time it was different and in some it was a combination.
On a couple of them, I had to change the keyboard. On one it worked fine when I was using a USB keyboard but not the PS/2 which told me there was something wrong with the connector. Another time it was the reverse. Go figure. Another time I had to change the memory stick. Sometimes just cleaning the inside of dust and debris will help. There is no one solution. You have to try different things.
