Overall, Desktop or Desktop Replacement Laptop?
I've been looking at a Dell Inspiron desktop with 3gb ram, Intel core Quad Q6600, 640gb HDD, Radeon 3650, 20" monitor, DVD-RW. Costs £579
Also looked at an HP DV7-1020EA and DV71130EA, both £700, they feature:
17" 1440x900 display, Core 2 Duo P8400, 4gb ram, DVD-RW BluRay, GeForce 9600M GT, Webcam, 320GB HDD, and all the usual stuff.
Thing is, I'm aware of people buying 17" Laptops to replace big desktops, but is it worth getting the HP laptop with dual core, but with 512mb dedicated 9600M GT graphics, or should I get the inspiron, which I'll be able to upgrade and has a quad core, but 256MB radeon HD 3650. I'm not too sure which will be better in the long run, as I'm planning for the computer to last me at least 4 years. I already have 2 laptops and an aging 5 year old Packard Bell.
The big laptops won't take up as much space and is becoming more popular, but the traditional desktops, although upgradeable are becoming less popular? What should I go for then???
Desktop if you want to keep it in the long run and upgrade it. Just need to treat it properly with anti-virus, etc.
