Will a mother board from a desktop computer fit into a tower case?
I would like to move the mother board from a HP desktop Pentium 4 computer, together with all the other components, into a tower case, but am not sure it works. Maybe someone here knows...
It will work as long as the motherboard is mounted securely and is insulated from any bare metal.
In other words, if the mounting holes do not line up, then you must improvise.
Who cares what kind of case (exterior) you use, as long as the components are where they should be, have power supplied, and all are compatible, go for it.
I have done so many times and always got them to work, with proper tools and knowhow, you're laughin'.
PS: I like lotsa elbow room in the case to allow for expansions. With laptops & such, we don't have that freedom.
