Moving from 1gb to 2gb for Parallels Desktop?
I have 2 gb RAM 667mhz ordered and am wondering how much this will affect the speed of my system from 1gb RAM. My specs are: 2.0ghz core 2 duo, 80gb 5400 RPM, 1gb RAM 667mhz. Thanks! I would people who respond to actually have experienced the speed with 2gb RAM.

For normal applications such as internet, email, text editing, and simple putzing on the computer will not have much measurable changes, if any at all.
What will speed up will be your larger applications such as gaming, video editing, photo editing, sound editing, CAD, Database Management, etc.
A single stick of RAM that is 1 GB in size will be slightly slower than having 2 sticks of 512 MB. In your case, having 3 separate 1 GB sticks will help increase speed by increasing the number of available memory buses being used. This helps alleviate the bottleneck known in the Von Newman architecture.
You had 1 GB of RAM before your upgrade so you probably didn't have a problem with your computer using more virtual memory to supplement the low amount of RAM available. If you did have this problem before you might see an increase in performance between 400-1500%. Otherwise, using large memory intensive applications you should at least see a performance difference of 2-10%.
I upgraded my laptop from 1 GB stick to two 1 GB sticks and saw that my wait time for rendering reduced slightly. I also played around with some games and noticed that I didn't have as many frame drops or choppiness.
