DELL Optiplex gx270 sff help?
I am interested in getting a small form optiplex gx270.
I would like to know what graphics cards will fit in it (128mb or 256mb even better)
also
is there room for the graphics card in either agp or pci slot AND a tv card? tv card not so important as there are usb versions if needs be!
oh so if no tv then how about a good audio sound card?
I'm mostly concerned with graphics card
I am building this to use as a htpc.. I am not using it for games or anything other than streaming media from a server. I know there is atleast ONE pci slot plus an agp slot.. I know what memory it needs etc and that it doesnt support pci express pci-e so all I am worried about is the size (physical size) of the graphics cards! I havent got the machine yet and I am not going to buy it until I know that I CAN have a 128 or 256mb graphics card.. so please can you tell me what ones are available?
You can use PCI for both. It has a riser with two open PCI slots on it.
You will not get fantastic video from it, but let's be honest, it's a GX270... so you shouldn't have had major expectations of it anyway.
I have several GX270s in my house doing random things. They're decent little machines.
Your best bet would be to use a PCI All-In-Wonder card for video out and TV in.
EDIT: When I get home, I'll pull apart one of mine and see what the actual PCI size is.
