I have a Dell Vostro 1700 t5270 with 1.40 ghz and 2 gb. Is it possible to upgrade windows xp to windows 7?
How much memory do I need?
I disagree with the first answer. While 2Gb is not a lot for Win7, it would still load.
BUT - Dell has not created drivers for the 1700 series beyond Vista. So you are better off sticking with Xp.
In Xp, you have plenty of RAM for all but gaming, which you don't have the graphics card for anyway.
In Win7, you would only have minimal memory, and would get the same performance as having only about 300Mb in Xp.
