what kind of hard drive do i need for a Dell Dimension 2400 service pack 2 desktop computer?
I'm looking to replace the internal hard drive of my desktop. Do I need a specific type of hard drive for a Dell Dimension 2400 computer? Picking the best answer for this myself.
You would need a IDE 3.5" hard drive.
Make sure it is not SATA. all new hard drives are SATA (or SAS), IDE hard drives are rare nowadays. You can get one on newegg.

please note that if you are replacing the main hard drive you will need to reinstall windows and drivers and programs. The easiest way to do that is with a recovery CD. see if Dell can send you one. beg for it and they may give it to you for free
