I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 & am trying to update the Ram to some 2x 512MB DDR 266 SODIMM pc2100 2.5?
It supports up to 1024MB of Ram.
I updated the Bios to A32.
Every time I try to boot it up, the lights blink for about 5-6 seconds & then it shuts down.
There are no beeping sounds I can hear.
What do you think is wrong with it?
It powers on, but the OS doesn't boot-up.
the battery isn't dead, but I have tried with the AC too.
Is the battery dead? Try using the AC adapter. There could be many causes to this problem, i recommend phoning Dell Customer support up. Or just by an Inspiron 6400 like me =)
