Does a bigger hard drive slow down my computer?
I want to put a 500 GB hard drive in my new computer, (Dell XPS 410 with a 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB memory) but i'm wondering if the bigger drive will cause a slow down if the power supply can't handle it anyone know anything about this?
It's quite safe to install the drive, unless your power supply is tiny ie 200W unlikely with a Dell you will not notice a difference.
The only thing that will slow it down is as you use up more hard drive space, AV and spyware scanning, defragmenting etc, will take longer.
