My computer running XP Pro will shut down while I tried to do restart.?
I have to reset the power supply before I can restart the computer. Once it has boot up, it will run run without any problem for at least an hour or more. The computer is 3 years old P4 2.4G with 80 G harddrive. I have all the latest window update.
Sometimes a blown power supply unit can ruin other computer components as well. First of all, it may be overheating - is the fan(s) clogged up with dust and debris? Get a can of compressed air to clear the area, and then try booting up. If the problem persists , take it to a repair depot to check and/or replace the power supply.
