how to know that how much my computer is using from 200W power supply?
I want to know how much power supply my computer is supplying to the computer.It is a branded CPU from HPCompaq Evo D310v microtower
I have recently change my processor from 1.7 GHz to 2.0 GHz P4 and RAM is 768 although it shares with built-in video card(64MB)
I have a 40 GB HDD and a CD-ROM
but no external AGP's or PCI's.
Usually a 200W power supply is very small, and if you are doing any upgrading to a computer with that, you are going into the danger zone with a power supply that small. People who build with a 200W power supply are basically doing the minimum cost they can get away with at the time of the computer build, which means anything upgraded on it will usually need something bigger. If your computer is shutting down randomly, that is a sign you need a bigger power supply.
I would invest in a 300W or greater if I were you. You can find a good 400W online for around 25 dollars.
