Why does OpenOffice 3.0 Writer run so slowly with an Intel Duo Core 1.6 Ghz processor ?
My old Intel Celeron D 3.19 Ghz processor in the same machine works just fine. (Custom built desktop computer with MSI mainboard, 1 Gb RAM )
Apparently, 1.6 plus 1.6 does not equal 3.2 ? ? ?
Does OpenOffice have some serious flaw like it can't deal with multi-core processors?
The dual cores are best utilized for multi-tasking programs....basically having many process run at once, they balance the load more effectively. OpenOffice doesn't utilize that many processes and your dual core won't "fully-utlize" itself in processing your application.
