What is the best Computer Processor? Is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ a good one?
To be honest, this is the baseline processor for today's computers. If you are thinking about buying a new PC, you will not be able to afford top of the line processors (I'm guessing you are not super rich). My suggestion is get a dual core AMD x2 4600+ which should be cheap by now. Intel's core 2 duo are driving these guys a bit down in price. If you do decide to buy Intel, remember that dual core is not equal to the superio core 2.
By the way, processor speed does not determine the speed of your computer. It is just one component of your computer.
There's still bus speed, hard drive access time, cache speed, cache size, ram speed, etc...
