My computer struggles when using demanding music production software. What is it I need to upgrade?
I built my own computer not so long back and I've now discovered that when I use damanding software it crackles and I lack good sound quality. When I made the computer I bought an AMD Athlon processor, 500GB HDD, but only 1 stick of RAM at 2GB. Do I need another stick in there or is it something else?
By all means up your RAM, you can only benefit. Don't forget though XP cannot read more than 3 Gb.
I would as far as your sound card goes is say get higher quality one. It's obviously struggling to cope with what your demanding of it.
