how to find out if sound has been muted on compaq computer windows xp?
my cat chewed my audio wire into and even after installing 2 different sets of speakers, I still have no sound. Was told sound may have been muted, but cannot figure out how to check it.
If you don't have the speaker icon on your taskbar, it's found in Control Panel under Sounds and Audio Devices.
If that isn't your problem then you can get a sound card cheap at Compusa. About 15-20 bucks.
