my computer restarts constantly?
help me
my computer is a old one its is a compaq EXS
with a p4 processor
and it has a RD ram with 256Mb
and with a new hard drive
ok so this is what happened
when i completely finished putting the computer together
i left my computer opened and i left the power supply on the top of the side of my computer case because it didnt fit.
and so my mom came in and told me i should cover it i told i couldnt and she just took the side panel and placed it on top of my power supply and right after that my power supply fell over and crashed into my motherboard.
and my computer restarted after it hit my mother board
while i was de-fragmenting my hard drive
and nothing on my mother board seemed to be damaged.
so now i have to reformat my computer because some of the windows files were lost
as i was reinstalling windows XP pro all of a sudden its restarts
and every time i turn it on to load the o/s it restarts.
please help me
You may have loosened or damaged the RAM card(s). Inspect the card(s), push them in tight. Make sure the clips are holding them snugly. Try booting Windows with a different card. You may not need to reinstall the OS. If you get Windows to load disable Automatically Restart.
