What's the maximum RAM my computer can handle? ? Computer Information is Compaq PIII 450MHz?
Sir We have a PIII- 450MHz Compaq Desktop PCs.They have 4GB HDD and 64 MB RAM. Thier mother board is Intel AGPSet FW8244B8 F915TC 38. My Boss wanted to upgrade its RAM TO 512MB and its HDD to 80GB. Is it possible. Please reply as eraly as possible.
I cannot find the model you listed, are you sure that is the model and not the serial number. You may want to look up the computer by the Compaq model number. In any case a lot of the systems of that generation can support up to 256meg memory sticks so it will most likely work if you can find the correct memory. Unless you already have the parts in stock already I recommend that you do not upgrade the system because you would be better off just getting a new system. Old memory and hard drives have a tendency to be way over priced. Upgrading the system could easily cost you over $100 or more. You can probably find a used p4 3ghz system with over a gig of ram for around $100 or passably less.
