Which laptop is better, a gateway with dual core or a compaq with amd sempron processor?
the gateway has a 1.46GHz processor with 2GB memory. it also has intel pentium dual core. the hard drive has 101GB of memory.
the compaq has a 2.10GHz processor with 3GB memory. the hard drive has 160GB of memory.
both have windows vista. i want to use the compaq for surfing and movie downloading. should i use that one or the gateway? which is better? thanks
depends. the gateways pros, it has a dual core processor meaning it can process more tasks at a faster rate due to its two channels to read the information. the processor is intel which is the staple when it comes to processors.
gateway cons; low memory in ram, laptops that run vista should have a minimum of 2gb of ram to run ok. no it will feel slow when you are gonna be doing a lot of processor intense applications like movie downloading or gaming.
compaq, pros; it is made by hp a great computer company. it has the sempron which i believe is only a single processor as compared to the gateway's dual core. but it does have a faster speed. the hard drive is larger than the gateway and more memory for those intense programs like downloading and gaming
cons, amd processor which is not as name brand as intel but still a good alternative, single core not dual core.
it all comes down basically which is within your budget, what looks better to you, and its other specs; wireless? webcam built-in? bluetooth? new or used? size? portability? accessories?
