P4 desktop that I want to keep. What can I do to make it faster?
It is compaq with a P4/1.6ghz. Only has 512mb of memory and a 80gb hd. I can get memory and hard drives really cheap thru work. I really don't have the money for a new desktop so I am trying to improve what I have. Can it be done or is it a waste of time?
Adding more memory can help and it can be done. Nothing is a waste of time when it comes to a desktop because they can always be upgraded for far less than buying a new computer.
