Can I install Xp on a Vista using a xp reinstalling cd?
i currently have windows vista home basic on my Dell inspiron 1525 laptop and i want to downgrade to xp. So i have an installation cd for my desktop and was wondering if i can install xp on my laptop using my installation cd?
1) you can run it legitimately on one computer or the other, not on both. You'd have to buy another copy to run it on both. (If it's not legitimate you can't do updates, install a lot of Microsoft things - and it's illegal.)
2) You can only run XP on your laptop if you can get all the drivers in an XP version. Check on Dell's site.
